Halloween 2007
We know we have been slacking on the blog but it has been a crazy end of summer for our family. We will be moving in a few weeks so we will update everyone when that occurs. Here is some video from the boys trick or treating last night.

Caleb & Caden get the call...
Last night, it finally happened! We knew it was only a matter of time before the scouts would be calling. The boys were called up by the Kansas City Royals to play in Saturday evening's game against the Cleveland Indians (We left out the link to the Indians' site intentionally, most of you know that we would never promote the city of Cleveland or any of its athletic franchises). Unfortunately, the Roy Boys were routed mostly by the 5 runs in the first inning, no matter we had an amazing time anyway. Early this year the boys became members of the "Blue Crew", the Royals fan club. So after the All-Star Break the organization sent us 8 free tickets to last night's game. The adventure started off with us singing "Take me out to the Ball Park" about a dozen times on the way to the park. After arriving we made the long trek to our seats. Upon settling in Clint went picked up a half dozen hotdogs, a beer, a lemonade, and of course some Cracker Jacks. The boys stood up and took of their hats for the National Anthem. After that the fireworks really captured the boys' attention and then it was time for first pitch! The "Bball" (the twins' word for baseball) players took the field, however the boys were now mostly being entertained by the beautiful fountains in the outfield of Kaufmann Stadium . This was probably for the best, the Royals were in true form and the first inning lasted about 45 minutes. So we only made it through the 3rd inning. Check out the photos it was a blast and a really special moment for Clint.

Hail West Virginia!

We recently took a trip back to West Virginia to visit all of our friends and family. The boys did a great job traveling. I think they have already earned a frequent flyer ticket! While in WV we got to experience many new things. One new experience was the boys fascination and excitement for all things West Virginia University . Of course this new found interest has been fueled by constant bombardment of Mountaineer propaganda by Clint. This assault includes reading Hello Mountaineer nightly, teaching the boys the words to Hail West Virginia, as well as identifying anything with the colors Old Gold & Blue as being "The Mountaineers." So while in Morgantown, the boys were especially ecstatic at visiting Mountaineer Field everyday when we went to visit Nana who was recovering from knee replacement surgery at WVU Hospital. Another great experience was visiting the campus and getting to see all of the buildings in Hello Mountaineer. The highlight of our visit for all of the Springer boys (including Clint) was getting the pictures shown here taken beside the Mountaineer statue. However, it is with some sadness that we are helping the boys realize that they bleed Old Gold & Blue because a benefit of Clint's new faculty position includes free college tuition to any Jesuit university in the country. So it is likely that the boys will never be WVU Alumni at least as undergraduates.
At any rate, we thought the timing of the post was appropriate with WVU's march to our first national football championship quickly approaching in the season opener against the MAC powerhouse the Western Michigan University Broncos.
LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!

Let the games begin...

Today we begin the quest for freedom from diapers! A good mental image for our determination would be Clint dressed like William Wallace from Braveheart! After changing ~10000 diapers we are finally ready to take the plunge head first into potty training. It goes without saying that we are neither excited nor educated about this adventure. It is truly a leap of faith into the inner workings of the toddler mind and its' attitude toward all things #1 and #2. As most of you who read this know, Clint is always up for some potty humor, but this folks is no laughing matter. At current count the boys have now removed their diapers and let it fly all over their cribs for two days straight at nap time. Thus today the family trekked out to obtain a little BBQ and Potty Training for Dummies from the local Borders. As I write this Terica is informing me that we must pick two lucky stuffed animals to be taught how to use the potty by Caden and Caleb themselves. In addition she has suggested purchasing the video It's Potty Time which includes everyone's favorite song Super Duper Pooper. One final note, apparently after we prep the twins for using the potty we will begin the actual push towards freedom with a weekend entitled "Potty Mambo Weekend". Should anyone care to join us or in fact take our place for this event we would be happy to accommodate you. Wish us luck we're going to need it.
One final note...
Because we are moving soon, we have opted not to start the boys with a new day care during the fall semester. Therefore, Clint will be staying home with the twins while Terica is working and vice versa. We are positive that this experience will make for some excellent blogging...
